Haas Works Wannabe Art

Art is what we make it and some may agree. Some may also agree that art needs to be fun. Most would agree there is not one definition or one art medium encompasses all of art. That leads to what is the definition of an artist? It seems to be as difficult as defining art. Now defining Wannabe Art is easier because it is whatever you want it to be. In that spirit the following stained glass, macrame, and painting works were created by Bruce Haas, a self proclaimed wannabe artist, that hopefully enourages creativty and fun, even when others can do it better. Interesting this wannabe artist also wants to be a wannabe comedian. Isn't that funny?? I guess you can wannabe anything! It is how you look at things. When you look at the glass below, what do you see? What do you focus on? Things or people? Both?

Erika Off the Charts and Out of Control. Human Service Research developed assessment tools that used cartoon characters such as Erika and other characters that were created by an illustrator Deon Howard and wannabe artist Bruce Haas for assessing life skills of children and youth using art, animation, and technology in scenarios that asked what were they likely to do in a situation regarding decision, critical thinking, communication, goal setting, problem solving, and social conscience. Apparently this was an example of a bad decision. Haas Works designed storylines and characters, created animation and, attempted, to provide humor. Some say yes and some say no! Some say OH NO! Some say Hell NO! Some just don't say.

Self Portrait: On the Ridge Off the Charts and Out of Control and Working!

Meg I Know It Looks Like Play, But I Really Am Working!!

This is how our granddaughter Charlotte draws me, that look of working or thinking about work or thinking about something. I'm perplexed. I think.

This IS Play

Not Sure What This IS

This May Be Play, Teamwork, or the Beginning of a Beautiful Friendship

Now this is definitely play, work, and creativity. Integration of music and painting in a live setting is a piece of art. Here are jazz musicians Jeff Haas (not related to Bruce Haas or Bruce's brother Jeff who is a musician and not a wannabe musician) & Trio with Laurie Sears playing while artist Lisa Flahive captures the moment. Note when Lisa started painting Laurie was playing the saxophone but the video shows her painting while Laurie is playing a flute. The second video shows when Laurie was playing the saxophone earlier. We may have to buy another picture with Laurie playing the flute. The video was taken by Bruce Haas in Northport, Michigan. Many thanks to all the artists. The picture hangs in our study where we listen to the jazz, enjoy the picture, and remember the process. What fun.

This is Jeff Haas (my brother) playing on the ridge with the wind. He gave me the gift of music by giving me a mountain dulcimer which I will be forever grateful. Just one more wannabes - musician. Another story and another time.

Hopefully something sparked an interest for you to go and create something and, of course, have fun doing it!
